Fruilar
The Fruilar rooftop solar park is located in the town of Lleida, 135 km west of Barcelona. It was built and put into operation in 2011 by a Spanish contractor. The purchase was part of a portfolio transaction involving five other rooftop solar facilities.
The engineering firm in charge of issuing the acceptance certificate confirmed that no shadows would be cast by neighboring buildings. The facility uses polycrystalline modules from REC Solar. The Norwegian firm provides a 10-year product guarantee as well as a linear performance guarantee for 25 years.
Long-term project financing for the facility was arranged in conjunction with Commerzbank, supported by a low-interest subsidy from the KfW development bank. The developed operation and maintenance concept ensures the long term electricity production.
