La Senia
The rooftop solar part was developed in 2011 by AE3000, an experienced Spanish contractor. It went into operation after the successful completion of the initial start-up phase. The facility is located in the town of La Senia, 180 km north of Valencia.
The rooftop panels use monocrystalline photovoltaic cells from Sunpower, which are characterized by their very good module efficiency. A long-term operations and maintenance plan is in place with AE3000. The firm guarantees both the performance, and availability of the plant.
Long-term project financing for the facility was arranged in conjunction with Commerzbank, supported by a low-interest subsidy from the KfW development bank.
