Algarrobo III

The Algarrobo III greenfield solar park is located in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. The average annual solar radiation levels at this location reach a maximum of up to 1,780 kWh/m², making it ideal for solar energy production.

The PV power plant Algarrobo III was constructed by a Spanish subsidiary of Gehrlicher Solar AG in 2010. The project was acquired together with two other projects in a portfolio transaction. The project layout and system configuration together with an appropriate maintenance contract ensures the long term energy production.

Long-term project financing for the facility was drawn up with HSH Nordbank, and involved a low-interest loan from the KfW development bank.
