Surgeres
The Surgeres rooftop solar park was purchased along with five other facilities from the solar energy firm AE3000 in November 2011. It is located on the roof of a storage depot in southwestern France, 30 km from La Rochelle. It started operation after completion in October 2011.
Polycrystalline modules from the Chinese manufacturer Yingli Solar were chosen during the planning process. The storage depot was conceptualized and aligned with the photovoltaic generators in mind. The building is freestanding, ruling out the casting of shadows by neighboring properties.
Long-term project financing was arranged with and paid out by a French bank. The earnings power of the project secures good long-term dividends through a favorable buyback price of 40 ct/kWh.
